The beautiful game of badminton actually started in colonial India and has gained support and fans from all over the world. Today the game is played in many countries specially the Asian countries North and South Korea, Japan, China and India. The game is fairly simple and can be easily played at an amateur level. It is strictly an indoor game played in a badminton court with a shuttle cock and rackets. Presently Saina Nehwal of India is the top ranked shuttler amongst the women badminton players. The game has also been included in the Olympics since 1992 and can be played in five categories – men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
